Dad's 93rd Birthday
Today is my Dad’s 93rd Birthday. His has been a life well lived. He has seen the Great Depression and he fought for his country in World War II.
In his youth he played the Violin and was Concert Master with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
He shaves and puts on a white shirt and tie every day. Then goes down for breakfast. After breakfast he reads the Philadelphia Inquirer from front to back. Later in the day he checks out the Food Channel on TV. He loves to take family and friends to his favorite restaurants.
He credits my Mother’s good care for his long and happy life.
When I was 12 years old he became my Dad and I am sure my life has bee richer for having had him in my life. Happy Birthday Dad.

Dear Moa.
My biggest happiest wishes for a great birthday for your dad.
Please all enjoy yourselves.
Please also send me your address so I can send you the still life.
It is painted on oil painting paper so it is very light in travel.
Much love.
Erla in Vienna.
Please tell your dear father a happy birthday from your friends that read about his rich life with much joy and the best of wishes...
You Dad looks absolutely fabulous.
Happy Birthday to your Dad!
He is a great example of how to continue living ones life. Staying interested in things. Does he still listen to music? I'm so impressed that he played the violin with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra!! I hope he reads this comment!!
I love this post about your dad. Shirt and tie? What a sweetie he is. Luck, lucky you to still have him.

I just stumbled in here from somewhere or other (probably other). Is that a recent photo of your dad at the top? If so, he looks awesome for 93! Happy birthday to him! Sweet, loving post.
Erla: Thank you on his behalf...we had a great time.
I will e-mail you right away...this is so exciting and so kind of you...I am a lucky person.
Lea: I will and I think he will be happy to get so many Happy Birthdays...he was showing me with pride all the cards he got through the mail.
Nessa: I agree with you...sometimes I wish I had his genes.
Constance: It certainly is...and it helps to have a person like my Mother taking care of you.
Sadly he cannot still enjoy music...he wears two hearing aids that destort the sounds of music and without them he cannot hear at all.
I will make a print out of this post and all the comments...he will like that.
Donna: It is amazing, for as long I can remember people have noticed how well he dresses...he loves smoking jackets and wears them at home when he has company.
Dan: I am happy you stumbled...welcome...I have seen your avitar somewhere?
I took this photo two days ago (Sunday) Thank you :)
Mo'a, what a handsome & classy dad you have! I think he looks like a film star from the beautiful 40s & 50s black-and-white movies! And what an impressive position he had, too! Bless him for being a wonderful dad to you! This post LITERALLY brought tears to my eyes!
Mo'a ~ Happy Birthday to your amazing Dad! What an impressive and charming man. I love the photos and wish him the best of health and happiness for the coming year.
I just love that he gets up and gets all "gussied up" each day. Now that is an inspiration.
Best to him and your Mom. XOX
Kai: I think so also...he does have a great style and impecable taste.
He is a wonderful Dad, Grandfather and now Great-Grandfather.
G: These are my favorite black and whites of him...the one where he is with my Mother fell into my hands not too long ago...I just love that one.
He is indeed a great inspiration.
I will relay your message to them.
A beautiful loving tribute to a wonderful man Mo'a. I love the picture at the bottom that is the bonfire in the lava :-)
Happy Belated to your Dad. I feel a connection because of the Pittsburgh thing :)
Lucky you to have him for 93 years plus!!!
Terry: He is indeed a wonderful man.
I knew you would love that picture...and you are right that bonfire was in the lava in the area where the Blue Lagoon is now.
Ulla: I am so lucky to have him and my Mother still with us :)
Happy Belated Birthday to your Dad. He looks wonderful for 93. I bet he could tell us lots of wonderful stories. You are luck to have a Dad like him.
