Her Majesty The Queen Of The Sauna
About seven years ago while living in Salem, MA, I was visiting my parents here in New Jersey.
A few days into my visit my fingers were itching to create something.
I went to the local AC Moore and found Sculpy II clay in silver. The only tools they had were plastic and in not time I had broken all of them. I finally settled on a nail file and toothpicks as tools.
This was the first time I had used polymer clay. My hands get very warm when I am working with polymer clay, resulting in a lot of melting and slumping of the clay. When I did this piece I did not know that I could bake in several stages.
She is not perfect.....I am a perfectionist. For some reason she is one of my favorites of all the work I have done. And because she is not perfect she lives in my house.
The other day I noticed the little crown that is on her head, siting on the counter in the master bathroom.
My husband had left it there when he opened a new bottle of “Royall BayRhum”....*their spelling* After Shave from Bermuda. Not only does he smell good but he also left me a little treasure to find. I just love that :)
That was day of the coronation. I present “Her Majesty The Queen Of The Sauna”

oh, she is wonderful! i love her!
OMG! She is your first sculpt? That's amazing- you were born to sculpt it seems. I love her. No wonder you kept her, I wouldn't let her go either.
Mo'a, you sculpted - gasp! - ME! Now, don't you laugh! She DOES look like me - all but the hair which DID look like mine until I had it cut in May. And DESPITE the strong resemblance (heehee - nothing like peeking at someone's blog & recognizing your own well-padded form) I ADORE HER! Seriously, she's amazing! Your FIRST sculpt? WOW! She looks professionally sculpted! As Linda said, you are a natural! And the crown? Perfect!
She is wonderful. She is beautiful.
Are you ever free on Sundays for some Starbucks?
OH. MY. GOD! My dearest LovaMóa she is breathtaking and utterly perfect! Beautiful! I am in awe of what you are able to creat with your mere hands! She has so much soul it is incredible! Honestly, by far one of my favorite pieces indeed!
As for your question... yes, a very slight tweaking! I figured out how to take out the ugly blogger bar and so out it went making the place look like a professional site instead! You noticed! *blushetty blush*
And yes, I still have the same email... mizbohemia@gmail.com
Back to the Queen... I humbly bow before the both of you!
What's not to love, her curves, her content smile and her new crown. Just beuatiful, teh story behind it is even more so and Heinecken sure is a treasure!
Absolutely perfect!! Except for the crown (because of course, I do not have any sauna to be queen of) I think you peeked at me whilst making your sculpture :-) I LOVE IT, right down to the foot pointing wistfully in the other direction. You have so much talent inside - I love it when some escapes for all of us to observe.
Adorable!
Well, I was going to say she looked like me and where did you find a photo of me to sculpt from.....but Kai beat me to it. Seriously Moa she's a fantastic sculpt. She makes us smile simply because most of us can see ourselves in her in some way. Love her.
I'm so very glad you are blessed with time with your mother in that way. I lost my own Mom not long ago, she was 94 and still full of spirit. I treasure every second I spent with her.
I'm finally getting time to read blogs, and play myself. Fun stuff!
Hugs
Mo'a... I LOVE her!!!! She is both regal and joy all over in her silver sheen. I am SO excited that we all had a royal invitation to her coronation!!!!
LOL KAI!!!! So funny, I said I was looking more and more like her too.. hee hee...
Umm, that is soooo outrageously impressive!!! You are amazing!! xoxoxo Love her, and the aftershave crown!! Yippee!
Dawn: Thank you...coming from you that is a great compliment.
Linda: She is not realy my first sculpt...only a polymer clay first sculpt. I had been using Paperclay for several years.
Kai: *grin* I love that you see yourself in her...I actually sculpted my Grandmother, my Mother before she lost all her weight due to battles with cancer.
Thank you for your lovely compliments. As I told Linda she is technically not my first sculpt...just the first sculpt in polymer clay.
Nessa: Thank you :) Sundays are very busy for me because that is the day we have dinner with my parents...Saturdays are great how are they for you?
MizBohemia: Thank you :) And thank you for the tweaking, I saw it right away and though "My dear MizB is taking care of LovaMo'a"

Sherry: I am happy how many of my treasured friends see themselves in her...that makes me smile.
I am loving my time with my Mother and so happy that we moved to be closer to my parents.
I am happy to hear that you have time for yourself after all your hard work. Will we see some lovely new dolls in the near future?
Lea: Thank you my dear...she is happy that you were able to come...she likes your company.
Vanessa: I think we all are...and I hope that we will all be as happy as she is...no matter what the media tells us we should look like.
Coming from you my dear that is indeed a lovely compliment. xoxox
Amazing. Good sculpting. By the way, I am the opposite of you. I grew up in NJ and now live in Boston.
We usually do the family thing on Saturdays, but this weekend it looks like I may be free. I call you towards the end of the week and maybe we can do coffee this Saturday.
Nessa: Sounds good to me :)
Perfectly wonderful, and oh so timely with the current trend of crowns... you were way ahead of your time! I love her 'true-figure' we should all be queenly in love with who we are!!!
Thank you for visiting my blog. It led me to your blog and the super fascinating Queen of Sauna. Your website is beautiful! I'll stay and explore more...
Love her, Mo'a.
Thanks so much for visiting me. I love your site. Happy belated birthday to you and your dad. My mom was 93 in June.
Karen :-)
Rhea: Thank you.....sometimes I miss Boston.
Ulla: I would like to take that credit but her coronation was just last week...she was waiting patiently. Every day I count my blessings as more pounds and wrinkles gather.
Zorana: The Queen of the Sauna and I bid you...Welcome!!! I am enjoying your blog and will visit often.
Karen: Welcome!!! and a belated Happy Birthday to your Mom...aren't they amazing to live so long?
Sometimes your favorite things come when you least expect them and they are perfection because they came from deep within!
Nicol: You are so right...I think this sculpt comes from my very soul.
Love it...she is adorable! What talent you have in those hands of yours. The crown is just the right touch!
Inspired Tokens: Thank you, thank you....she is loving her crown :)
She is sooooo lovely! Absolutely adorable!
Susanna: The Queen says "Thank You"
Mo'a, just a quick visit before I'm away out on Montauk for several days. I'm glad I dropped in. Your sauna queen is perfect in every way (especially in how she makes us all realize the more curves and cushions - the more to love :).
She is magnificent and you are a rare talent indeed.
take care and see you when I return! ~ G
“Her Majesty The Queen Of The Sauna” is quite perfect, in my book.
And she is even more so, with her crown. How sweet of your husband!
Mari-Nanci
G: She without doubt accepts her curves and is quite proud...and she loves her crown...he is :)
Mari-Nanci: Yes, I think it was the crowning glory LOL...he is a love.
I missed the Queen of the Sauna the other day. She is lovely and rightly deserved her coronation! It is so nice the you kept her!
