Laurels and Strawberries

Cherish Yesterday
Dream Tomorrow
Live Today

Southern New Jersey has an incredible number of Laurels that are in full bloom right now. On our property alone we have somewhere around seventy Laurels that are in full boom. It is a sight to behold and I wanted to share it with you. Here are the ones that frame our Japanese style garden.

Yesterday we went to a local garden center to buy fresh produce, for the Neighborhood Memorial Day Party. While I was there, I bought some Big, Fresh, Juicy New Jersey Strawberries for my Strawberry loving friends.....enjoy.....I hope I bought enough.

Those are laurels? I thought they were hydrangea until I saw the lower picture. I grow terrific strawberries at home. At least the rabbits seem to like them.

Doug: The Hydrangea will be out in a couple of weeks....the Laurels are amazing. I hear the California berries are very good this year.
Joel: Thank you, Ken and I love to take pictures, there is so much fodder here for greart ones......the strawberries are juicy and so sweet.

Gimme gimme.
I loooovvveeee strawberries! That picture almost makes me bite right into my screen. Thank goodness I will go to germany next month and eat as much as I wnat of those! Here they taste like tomatoes or any other fruit. They get picked so early and send when they are still green...the taste is not that good.
Thank you for the picture!
And laurels are a sign for poetry. Milton once wrote: "yet once more oh ye Laurels..." adressing the spirits of poetry. That is why I thought the first three lines were so fitting!

I think you must live in paradise! I don't think we have laurels out here... although I've often heard that phrase "Don't rest on your laurels"... They are lovely!

And man alive, those strawberries - yummy. Bring out a little cream and whip up some Pönnukökur - delicious.
