One day I was thinking about how many of us sleep walk through life. Then someone or something comes into our life and awakens us up to life's infinite possibilities,"The Awakening."
There is a wonderful novel written by Kate Chopin with the same title. There also is a wonderful film with Robin Williams with the same title. All tacking different aspects of awakening!
Oh no! My comment did not take so I am back to comment away!
I looooooveeee your work! Consider me your number one fan... well number two because Lil' B is in love with your work. She is fascinated by the fact that you made all these things yourself and we have viewed your website many times! She also loves the fact that it was you, an artist, who praised her work so highly. It has been a total highpoint for her and we talk about that every once in a while! It meant a lot to her because for a year now she calls herself "Lil' B, the artist!"
You are amazingly gifted! Your work takes my breath away!
I also checked out some of your first posts and I just adore that pic of you with Brian when he was just 2! You were then, as you are now, a very beautiful LovaMo'a!
Minka: I look forward to reading the novel by Kate Chopin.....I learn so much from fellow blogger...I saw Awakenings with Robin Williams just the other day....the ending is so sad. Thank you for your compliment on my Awakening.....this is my favorite piece.....Ken would not let me sell it, so it now belongs to him. MizBohemia: I love it that Lil'B calls herself an artist....so many artists have some kind of complex and many times it is because they were not as lucky as Lil'B to have a Mother like you that encourages her. I was lucky as Art was very important to my Artistic family. I do however blush at compliments but love them all the same. Thank you for your compliments my number one and two fans :)
When I saw your works including this one on one of the pages in your earlier blog, I was stunned at the way you capture the character in faces, moments of emotion, and circumstance such as in The Awakening. Love it, and I'm glad you didn't sell it. I personally don't know how you can sell a single one of your "beings" because they are all so unique and precious. But, I'm glad you do, because I look forward to owning some myself :-)
Terry: I have always felt that the best way to show emotion is through the face and hands. Thank you so much for the compliment. I have never had a hard time letting go of my work.....for me the joy is in the creating, that is why Ken made sure we could keep "The Awakening" I am working on you Jolasveinar, it is so much fun, I love it. Greta: Thank you :)
This is so heart touching! Thank you for sharing! I see myself and my little (oh, no he is big now) autistic son in this, how would you call it, picture, chair, artwork anyhow. It has so icelandic roots with this moss I love so much, so hardy to live and soft to the touch! and this elfish faces. Of course I looked at the other artworks too and love them!
Biene: It makes me feel so good when my art touches the viewer. Thank you for telling me how this piece touched you. There is so much of Iceland in my heart and that seems to come through in my art :)
Mo'a, this is my favorite piece of work of yours'. Such love and gentleness in their faces. I always take a minute to look at it when I visit your blog. I truly love these gentle lovers.
Your comment about sleep walking thru life is so true. I can fall into that so easily, going thru the motions, getting caught up in the mundane, and not noticing the wonders and possibilites around me in every day life. Peace- Linda
