Happy Thanksgiving Fom Our House To Yours
Thanksgiving is my Husbands favorite Holiday. He is from New England where Thanksgiving was invented.
We will be six at our house, Friends and Family. As I was setting the table, I was thinking of our loved ones. Family and Friends who are no longer with us, who have left a mark on our hearts. Family and Friends who are far away from us in milage, but live in our hearts.
The china on the table is Lenox, the last of the New Jersey, American made. Glasses, Great, great, grandparents on my husbands side....marked with an P. Vine glasses a wedding present. Flatware a 50th anniversary present from my Father to his parents....marked with an R. Tablecloth made by me....I love to make tablecloths for every occasion. Pumpkins from CVS :) Candlesticks made by my Husbands Grandfather. The table setting has a meaning to us because of the memory of the people who owned or made some of these items, however, what means most to us are the people who have graced our lives. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

That's a great Thanksgiving message. I happy one to you six.
I don't have any pictures of my holiday table...no, wait! I think we might have one from the insurance claim last year...
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving, friend and neighbor M'oa!
And a very Happy Thanksgiving to you Doug and Al.....would you like some resipies for Turkey left overs?
Hmmm, that depends, M'oa. What's a left-over?
Beautiful table setting! Looks like a picture in a magazine of the perfect Thanksgiving. Our turkey and dressing is in the oven, filling the house with a wonderful aroma. We will have our dinner in a casual setting on the patio later this afternoon. Our Florida weather has warmed back up so we are enjoying the day outside.
Happy Thanksgiving-
Linda Fleming
Though most Iranians wear gold jewelry and I have some nice stuff to wear, I am more comfortable in my silver things and have a nice hippy and eclectic mix I wear... most of the stuff I wear is the same day in and day out and my attachment to them is all sentimental... every piece has a story attached to it and a human face behind it...
... which is what I love about your table setting... see? You just cannot escape stories and art my dear friend! I loved learning this tidbit about you and I love the story associated with your table setting... a beautiful foundation on which to build more stories and memories...
I hope you have a beautiful Thanksgiving with your loved ones my dear LovaMóa! As for me, I am thankful for you and appreciate having found you (via our dear Minka) more than you will ever know!
Besos to you my dearest LovaMóa!!!
Al: Well, then you don't need them:)
Linda: Thank you :) I do love to set a nice table. We had a lovely time with candle light and a fire in the fireplace, and lots and lots of food. Although, I would not mind experiencing a Thanksgiving dinner outside on the patio in balmy weather....that must be lovely.
MizBohemia: I think that next year the Bohemians must have Thanksgiving with us....we do a wonderful vegetarian feast....as you know I was a vegetarian for many, many years and learned to do vegetables, fruit and rice in many ways. Wow!!! that would be a great time for us all.....so come home soon....LOL you will still be 300 miles away, but somehow it seems closer :) ....and this coming from a person who has one foot in Europe :)
Happy Thanksgiving Mo'a. I know I'm a day late but you're probably lolling around still with a full tummy and a happy grin on your face :-)
This really is something special. How beautiful! And what a lovely home you got. Maybe someday in Iceland you will clean your mouth with my gransmother´s napkins at my place :)?
Kyahgirl: Never too late.We had a small rerun this evening.
I do have a happy grin on my face, because I spent the day helping my Mother.
Biene: Thank you Biene and let me add that you are always welcome here and bring the little Penguin with you :) I promise that next time I am in Iceland I will come and visit with you and Monika.
lookinf foreward!
Mo'a: Happy Thanksgiving. Love the stories behind the table setting. I am sentimental like that and wish we had more items with such history.
Just now settling down from the travels. We were actually at my sister's house which is about 45 south of Philadelphia. I was telling my mom and one of my sisters about you at the Thanksgiving table. We had an intimate gathering of 35 at my sister's house. Really was quite amazing and a sit down as well.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. PS: Ooh Mo'a, also when you get a chance, please send me your email again. I can't find your original email and thought I had forwarded it to my office...and so it goes.
G: There seems to be a story to everything we own :) and I like that.
Wow!!!35 people.
I will e-mail you soon.
Happy BELATED Thanksgiving to you, dearest Mo'a! my mother has some beautiful peices of china i hope to inherit some day (as do my sisters, so it should be fun to see who wins)...
your table looked absolutely beautiful and elegant... seems like a very nice and fitting reflection of the elegant and beautiful you. we dined on our everyday Fiesta Ware, and sat on the couch. but it was nice.... (maybe i'll break out the "good stuff" for Christmas.) xoxo
Oh, that's a pretty table. Wanted to say, too, that I grew up in NJ and have visited Iceland. Love Iceland, can't the say the same for Jersey.
Ah Mo'a - I know your Thanksgiving was lovely - thank you for sharing that vision of beauty with such a splendidly set table. I have many items from my grandmother, who collected and saved many family treasures passed down over the years. She is gone now, but thanks to her I too can set a beautiful table with memories of generations past. I didn't have much time for elegance this year, as we were all roughing it, stuffed into the cabin in the woods. Plenty of family (and TONS of food) to go around :-D
