Felted Bag
It was three years ago that I took a knitting class at a local yarn shop. My project was to knit a bag to be felted. I think I had a fear of felting. A couple of weeks ago I finally felted the bag and then I started embellishing.
Here is the before.
Here is the after.
I had an extra head drawn on velvet. I decided to paint it to go with all the embellishments, that I was adding to the bag.

Mimi: Good to see you here, love your site esp the new banner.
Yes, I will take it out when the weather get's better....although I should not complain, we did not get much snow here.
Bonnie: Thank you for the compliment :) It is very soft to the touch.
Nessa: Thanks :) It was a fun project once I got over the fear of felting.
Linda: Thank you :) Yes I did, I would use canvas or something else next time.....I started out by using just the face as it was, drawn with permanent ink, then I felt it needed to be as colorfull as the bag.....LOL, I painted it after I had put all the ribbons and beads on it.
hey lady
is there anything you can't do
I love the bag
Rachael: What a nice compliment...I have a long list of things I cannot do....but someday I will figure it out LOL

you could SO sell those things, and make a ton of money -- ever consider doing that ? of ocurse, you'd have to make more than one every 3 years, but still... i know i'd buy one!!
Neva: Thank You and *blush*
Ok!!! Sounds good to me....what color would you like.
I promise it would not take three years LOL
I LOVE the way the bag turned out, but it's the face from - gasp! - VELVET that is so amazing to me! How on EARTH did you paint on that? I'm bowing to you! Love your blog - and you are just as pretty as you are TALENTED!
Kai: Thank you :) Yes, it is velvet and believe me, I will not paint on velvet again....but I was using what I had.
I used to draw faces on velvet with brown fabric pen..... I think I will go to the studio and photograph one of the faces to show what I used.
Thank you Kai, for your nice compliments :)
WOW! Love the bag and the face is wonderful.
Love & Hugs
